Inspiration comes in different guises and for us, for the Founders Diane Francey and Rickie Tank this has come from our own grannies. For Diane, it was her hula hooping granny who still loved to dance away aged 80 and for Rickie it was her much loved and outspoken granny.
Our Co-Founders both live in parts of Edinburgh where many elderly people live, they have seen the daily struggles they endure and the frustration at not being able to access support.
Both Rickie and Diane believe every older person deserves to live with dignity and respect and as a result they have created a niche team of fully trained carers and companions that are also full of personality.
Diane Francey, Registered Manager
Diane is Glasgow born and moved to Edinburgh 18 years ago. She worked supporting people in community such as young families and assisting older people with daily life. It was at this time she realised her real passion for working with the elderly, and saw that there was a gap in the market for quality care for the elderly. Having undertaken extra studies and hands on training she went to co-found Home Help Me Care, which is now graded 6 out of 6 for Care by the regulator ‘The Care Inspectorate’.
Diane is a real people person, a calm and practical thinker who leads by example.
As Registered Manager, Diane is accountable to the Care Inspectorate for Home Help Me Care standards of care and service.
Rickie Tank, Manager
Rickie was born in Yorkshire and moved to Edinburgh 20 years ago, after obtaining her B.A. Honours Degree in Politics and Masters in Business Management.
Along time ago, when Rickie was 15 years old, she worked in a nursing home for the elderly as a kitchen assistant, and later as a care assistant. She held her post part time whilst studying over a 4 year period. She often looked back at that period of her life with great fondness and eventually after a 20 year career in Financial Services, went on to co-found Home Help Me care to continue with her heartfelt passion of working with the elderly.
